Nike Mercurial Match Alpha Project 2000 Black FG
New without box, some minor peeling on sock liner
The Upper:
- Nike continued with the KNG-100 upper material, the same material that was used on the original Mercurial in 1998
- A newly designed stitching pattern created a padded like upper texture
- A larger flappy tongue was used compared to the previous Mercurial
The Sole Plate:
- The sole plate featured a unique aesthetic design
- The Alpha project famously produced one of the best ever sole plate designs on this Mercurial and Air Zoom from the time
- The FG plate uses a bladed stud design very similar to the iconic Intertract design used on the Air Zoom series
Notes and Comments:
- The Match Mercurial was a bit of a strange one that not too many people remember, produced in the year 2000 by Nike in their famous Alpha project
- This is an incredibly rare pair of one of Nike's most innovative period, prior to the release of the Mercurial Vapor
