The Upper:
- A blend of K leather with synthetic padding material was used on the maximus
- This was a signature Francesco Totti colorway as worn by Totti
- The Maximus has quite the unique stitching design, creating dozens of synthetic padded grooves throughout the instep
- A carbon fiber insert was used around the heel cup as well, a feature Nike was also experimenting with around this time
- A fold over tongue was used over the lace cover
The Sole Plate:
- A one piece plastic sole plate with sort of a curved triangular pattern was used
- The sole plate used a zig zag design for added support and stability throughout the sole plate
Notes and Comments:
- The Maximus was an addition to the heritage of the Diadora line
- One of the more innovative Diadora models, the Maximus had a super unique stitching pattern that added a textured strike zone
- As famously worn by Totti throughout his career
