Nike Mercurial Vapor III R9 Zinc Tart FG
Like new condition - worn once, upper in perfect condition
The Upper:
- Previously in the Mercurial Vapor I and II, Nike used their NikeSkin technology
- With the Vapor III, Nike introduced the Teijin synthetic material that was lighter, softer, more durable, and easily molded to the foot
- A wonderfully designed upper material combined with the ultra sleek shape and lines made these boots stand out in every colorway
- This was an iconic signature R9 edition produced and worn by R9 for a very short period of time in a stunning silver and bright orange colorway
The Sole Plate:
- Nike switched from a one piece plastic sole plate to a newly constructed directly injected bladed stud configuration
- Using less materials with a super durable and lightweight plastic configuration made these boots the lightest Mercurial at the time
- Nike also started to use carbon fiber on the heel cup for extra stability and reinforcement
Notes and Comments:
- Nike would later go on to making over a dozen MV3 signature colorways
- With a lineup full of studs rocking the Vapor III, including R9, Thierry Henry, CR7, Drogba and many more, this was one of the most exciting Mercurial launches ever
- An incredibly rare colorway in the R9 edition that is not often seen today. The condition of the boots is as close to brand new as they can be, with just a few minor marks on the studs. The upper is perfect, the studs still have the dimples on them
